A Question About Highland Dress

Yesterday, while in the checkout queue at Lombardi’s Seafood in Winter Park (with my haul of six rainbow trout), a nervous and clearly deferent redneck comes up to me, curious about my kilt and hose.

“I don’t mean to be nosey…  but is what you’re wearing for work, or do you always dress that way?”

I replied, “It’s not a costume.  It’s called Highland Dress.”

Then a huge smile and he offered his closed fist for a bump.  Later in the parking lot, “You have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend.”
